Moore Development For Big Spring, Inc. is funded by a one-half (½) cent 4a sales tax referendum under the Development Corporation Act of 1979. Moore Development assists, stimulates, and enhances economic development in Big Spring, Texas, subject to applicable State and Federal laws and the Bylaws and the Articles of Incorporation of Moore Development. Moore utilizes its sales tax revenues to increase job opportunities available to the citizens of Big Spring by assisting in the expansion of local industry and the attraction of new industry to Big Spring and Howard County.

Unions

Big Spring is in a right-to-work state. Therefore, the level of unions represented in our area is limited to only one manufacturing company: International Union of Operating Engineers at the Alon USA Refinery.
