"Big Spring is centrally located in the U.S. which makes shipping to both coasts cost affordable, and the reverse is true, receiving raw materials is more affordable. The crime rate is nonexistent compared to larger towns such as Houston or Dallas. You are not having to constantly look over your shoulder for theft or vandalism to your property. The biggest reason is the people...it's nice to have friends and family to lean on when the going gets tough!"

A & M COMPOSITES, CORP

A & M Composites, L.P. was founded March 1992 in Houston, TX in approximately 1500 sq. ft. of working and office space. In 1994 the company mobbed to Coahoma, TX and occupied a 10,000 sq ft facility. After 2 years the building was not large enough for the growth we experienced. In February 1997, we moved to our present facility, located in Big Spring. The 52,000 sq. ft. building was expanded in 2002 by 8,000 sq. ft. to house a new winding area.

  • The purpose in starting AMCC was to give the best price. After working in other companies in the industry we knew that the filament winding industry was lacking in a customer oriented company. That thinking is what has made AMCC successful today with an average of a 20% growth per year.
  • A & M sells to several to several different industries, such as electrical, geophysical research, military, water technology, and the communications industry. We have an average of 20% growth per year. Some of our products include: fuse tubes, instruments housings for exploration, grain sleeves, antenna and propellant tubes, reverse osmosis housings and antenna housings, and frac and bridge plugs.
  • Our goal for the future is to continue a steady secure growth. We want to continue to give the best customer service in the business. Doing this means training our employees to check their part of the manufacturing process to get a 0% rejection rate. We have been able to continue upgrading the skills of our workforce through a Texas Workforce Skills Development Grant.
  • Our vision is to continue this growth to become one of the premier filament winding companies in the U.S., if not the world.
