Workforce Network

The Buisness Service Unit of the Workforce Network is employer-driven and supportive of the Permian Basin Workforce Development Boards expectations of providing and maintaining quality service to our employers. Our vision is to support the Permian Basin Workforce Development Board system which views the business as the primary customer and conducts efforts to communicate business needs to meet the labor market demand through effective local partnership with local educational systems, economic and community development entities, community based organizations, as well as the workforce population.

Customized Recruitment Events:

The Workforce Network promotes Customized Recruitment Events for employers to target specific skill sets needed for requested occuaptions. Labor Market Information will be provided for employers needing specific informations about local workforce issues. Interviewing and classroom space are available to employers utilizing Workforce Newtork services.

Pre-Employment Testing:

If the employer requests, the Center will provide skills testing to insure applicants meet the basic requirements set by the emplyoyers needs.

Customized and Incumbent Worker Training Opportunites:

Customized training provides a monthly reimbursement for employers who contract to provide on-the-job training opportunites to new employees who lack the skills necessary to gain employment. Incumbent Worker contracting is provided to employers who wish to retrain and upgrade the skills of existing workers.

Work Opportunity Tax Credits:

Employers may recieve a federal tax credit for hiring qualified youth, Veterans and other target groups.
